Losing focus of your goals and letting distractions get in the way of your meal prep or weight loss goals can plague anyone. Staying accountable can be difficult, especially on your own, but there are ways to make sure you stay on track and meet each goal you set.
Make an Instagram account of your weight loss progress
Creating a social media account of the meals you make every week or of your fitness progress is a good way to make your goals public. You’ll feel encouraged to post every week (maybe even every day) so your followers will stay updated with what you’re up to. And eventually, you’ll care less about your followers and more about creating a digital log of your progress. The visual aspect of Instagram can help you see how much you’ve improved or changed over time, while making it fun and less of a chore.
Start Journaling your weight and meal prep experience
If social media isn’t your thing, go old school with a notebook and pen. Journaling the foods you eat and make, your workouts, and how you’re feeling each day is a great way to figure out areas you want to change. The privacy of a journal encourages more authenticity, and you can customize your entries with color codes, doodles, and your own images. Also writing meal prep recipes you want to try or that you like can help you open the notebook more frequently so that you don’t have multiple half-filled books.
Enlist a Buddy who shares similar goals
Doing things alone, particularly when it comes to health and well-being, can be so much more difficult than if you had someone go through it with you. Prepping meals with friends on the weekends or creating a gym schedule with a partner benefits everyone. If you’re feeling especially lazy one Monday, your friend can encourage you to workout with them or to try a new meal plan (and vice versa). Sometimes having that support system right there can be the difference between reaching your goals or letting them disappear.
